I have only few stories of my own that make be believe there may be something more to life than what the majority of us tend to believe. But few have given me the chills like the one I'm about to share with you.

There are no ghosts, UFO's, or large hairy blood thirsty creatures in this story, only a string of bizarre coincidences that I haven't forgotten and never will.

I had decided to travel with a few friends to New York City, it was Easter Break of 1998 and a friend of mine had just received a bonus at work and was treating the group of us to a nice big room to hang out,  in a fancy hotel in New York City. There were 3 vehicles in our group and we all stopped to gas up. This is where things started to get strange.

My gas topped off at $6.66 cents. (hmm, thats a good sign) I thought.but I was not bothered by the total, im sure its pretty common. However when another vehicle in group said "uh oh, my gas topped off at $6.66 thats a bad sign" I began to wonder.

When I told them mine too came up to the same amount they began to act as if they believed it was a bad sign for the trip, But I believed of course it was just a bizarre coincedence and there was no point to worry.

So the trip continued. On we went until we finally reached our destination in one piece. Manhattan, New York City, The Big Apple! Excited to see what our room had in store we ran upstairs. Upon entering the room I rushed to the window and flung open the curtains, curious as to what city lights await outside the window of the 26th floor .

There wasn't much of a view. It was the neighboring building sitting what seemed like only a few feet from our window. With glowing bright red numbers in center view,  It was the address of the building and the just happened to be glowing eye level right in our window, and the address also happened to be 666.

Again many of the group started to act as if they were actually scared, as if the bizarre coincidence actually made them think there was something "bad" to come.

Not me, I didn't believe in such nonsense. But I have to admit there were many times over that weekend that we ran into that number and it did seem fairly odd. My opinion was that the address and other times we saw the number was simply because we were "looking" for it now, they were always there but now because of the 1st coincidence everyone was trying to find something to link it to the......paranormal.

Our trip was over and on the way out of the city we stopped at a small station to get some snacks  before we start the long drive back. I distinctly remember my purchase that day.

A pack of red twizzlers, a few postcards to mail some friends, and a keychain with the twin towers featured on it. ....

the total......................????????

Six dollars, sixty six cents.

This was the point I began to think there may be something to this. We spoke of trip and the strange coicidences many times over the next couple years. Then I moved to california and those friends and I have been able to talk as much as we used to , and the strange story ended there.....

Until September 11, 2001!

I knew that morning that I was given a sign of something bad to come. I looked at my keychain that still dangled below my keys, it showed the twin towers as they once stood, it was no coincidence, I was a believer. Many of us called each other afterward to discuss the trip and our opinion on what things could have meant.

Looking at receipts and photos we had kept, we found the day we had left for New York was March 5th. Hmmm march is 6 months before September, and the 5th is 6 days before the 11th.

What does it mean? Was I given a sign, or warning of what was to come? I wish I knew fore sure.
