I have heard somewhere, not sure if it is on a television show or on the radio, that dogs and cats can see and sense ghosts and spirits. It was difficult for me to swallow that thought at first remembering what I have read in a custom essay about these animals, especially dogs, that the only color they can see is the color blue and everything is of color blue to them. But maybe this handicap only sharpened their senses which then opened their sixth sense and made them sensitive of the other side. The day I changed my mind about that particular thought will forever be remembered. One faithful day, my mom, dad, and two brothers left home to visit an aunt who was sick in another city for several days. Because of my blasted school and a research paper that I am finishing, I had to stay behind. And my mom was so paranoid that aur house would be broken into when no one stays because of the succeeding news on robbery and break-ins. As if there is anything much that I can do when men gang up on me So there I was stuck at home with only Jimmy, our trusty 5 year old Labbie, for company. I decided to grab a bite in the kitchen. At first Jimmy followed me but after a while, thinking he got bored, suddenly left me and went to the stairs. Out of the blue he started to bark like crazy. You know how it is when dogs just bark on strangers? Like that! Scared out of my wits, I ran towards him but I was surprised for there was no one around. Jimmy was just looking up the stairs and barking. I was calming him down and shushing him but he just would not stop. After a while, he did stop then he started whimpering. I did not know what to do or how to comfort him. Again, after a few minutes he calmed down but he just kept looking up the stairs. That really creeped me out. He was leaning hi head to the sides as if he was listening intently to someone talking to him.
Call it nuts or whatever you want but that's what really happened. I tried telling Jimmy to stop whatever he was doing for he is really scaring me and then I remember what I heard somewhere! Animals can sense ghosts! I didn't know what to do. I tried dragging Jimmy over to the kitchen, threatening him that I won't feed him if we won't stop staring, playing loud music and everything else that I could think of to shake the eerie feeling. So I got back to my room pretending nothing happened. I was talking to Jimmy about ramdom things when I felt a cold air behind me. I stopped in the middle of my sentence but continued talking after a while. Then the hair on my neck started to rise and Jimmy was staring at me intently. Creepy stuff. I, again, pretended not to notice but I was already praying loudly in my mind!
